About TaxiGenius

TaxiGenius exists because the airport taxi rank is the worst place to do your homework. Visitors arrive in a city after a long flight, jet-lagged and overloaded, with no idea what a fair fare looks like or which firms to trust. Our job is to give you that information up front so the first cab ride of a trip is a non-event.

What we do

• Publish concise, accurate guides to the taxi trade in 20 major US and UK cities.
• Maintain a fare estimator that gives you a rough range for your trip in any covered city.
• Document airport transfer costs, tipping norms and common scams.
• Curate a directory of licensed taxi and private hire firms for travellers to use with confidence.

How we keep figures up to date

Meter rates are reviewed periodically against the official tariff published by each city's regulator. Where we know a figure has been changed, we update it; where rates are stable, we leave them in place. Every page on the site states the date of last review, and every page carries a clear disclaimer that the figures are rough indicators only.

Independence

TaxiGenius is independent. We accept paid advertising via Google AdSense and we curate a directory of licensed taxi companies, but our editorial content is not influenced by either. We do not accept payment for favourable reviews of a particular operator.
